NOTE: here you can download the debian package FOR NATTY…. COULD WORK For lucid and maverick BUT PLEASE DON’T USE IT IF YOU ARE NOOB IF YOU GET A MESSED SYSTEM IS ONLY YOUR FAULT ..note after installation run kbuildsycoca4 !!!!

kdelibs5-dev libavformat-dev libavcodec-dev libswscale-dev libavutil-dev build-essential kdebase-workspace-dev

**not sure about these libcgal-dev libvtk5-dev
then

now download the source:

and extract it ; go in the folder and type:

cmake . -DCMAKE_INSTALL_PREFIX=`kde4-config --prefix`

if you get some error take the error and type this

apt-file search ERROR

for example :

apt-file search /usr/share/cmake-2.6/Modules/FindPackageHandleStandardArgs.cmake

now if cmake don’t write something of wrong

note ** j3 is for dual core

make -j3 ; sudo make install

now log out and log-in again. or you will not see the option on the menu

What the heck do I do if the whole thing reports back errors? You should make a “If an error pops up, do xyz” cause I got errors out the wazoo on this.

  i didn’t try to compile again it … on linux these kind of articles are a point of start especially if they are old..

    btw i have just compiled in the same way on natty with kde 4.6 …
